A Brief History

 

 

 

 

Yasmeen actively seeks out the skills and techniques which will allow her to push the limits of her own creativity.  Learning new skills related to the various mediums she prefers is a limitless challenge she actively enjoys and shares with her viewers.   Her explorations have led her to take on a darker style of drawing while still maintaining a sense of beauty.

Emergence of a Name

• Y: Stands for the first name in “Yasmeen” who is the founding creator of this website.
• Spiri: Is derived from the word spirit.  To an artist, it is the portion that is revealed to the viewer, and it’s a rare glimpse into the soul of an artist.

What we do:

We are a company that specializes in fantasy based artwork and uses a variety of tools, both digital and traditional, to create these pieces. The company originally started off doing digital paintings on YouTube, but over time has expanded to 3D pieces as well. 

 

A Green Local Philosophy:

When working on prototypes for the various products, we try to accomplish two things.

The first is to try and use products which will have the least environmental impact, while maintaining a high quality standard. This means using filaments or resins which are often more expensive but are biodegradable and environmentally safe. While this isn’t always possible during the production stages, it is a primary focus for our company.

Our second goal is to use Canadian based suppliers whenever possible. When Canadian suppliers begin producing products which are close to their competitors in quality, we normally make an effort to transition. This helps ensure that our turnaround rate is faster, as well as helping to maintain the local economy.

 

Repurposing the Rejects:

Instead of throwing out or destroying existing pieces which don’t met the desired standards, some of these are instead turned into more artistic pieces. While there are sometimes many, which may result from the initial stages of prototyping, a good fraction of these can be made into a new art form.

 

Made By the Founder:

Most of the products that you see on display are handcrafted by the founder of the company, Yasmeen @ Yarkspiri Fantasy Art. By producing most of the products in house, we’re able to better ensure a high level of quality. Most are surprised to discover that the following are all made in a 1-bedroom apartment.
