This image took approximately 4 hours to complete and allowed me to experiment with rendering flame effects. I made sure to look at burning log reference material as well as other artistic interpretations of burning vampires. Thanks to all of the research I came up with the final digital painting that you see here.

Although the request for this drawing tutorial was for a Vampire Lord vs a Vampire hunter, I gave both characters my own personal twist.  I created the vampire hunter to be a misfortunes military man turned hunter after an unexpected attack by the Lord Vampire.  I took my inspirations from renaissance clothing designs along with revolution style military wear.  By combining this two styles of clothing I was able to create a illustration which is very much unique to my own style of drawing.
